People that misuse apostrophes.
I keep seeing that more and more often, and I don't know why. My most recent example is an entry on craigslist (I know, people on that site can't spell worth anything, anyway, but still).
"Two Gerbil's for sale." Ugh.
Yes! There's plural and then there's possessive or contractions. Grammar is not taught well enough in school. When I taught 5th grade my students had 4 sentences with incorrect grammar to correct every morning.
ReplyDeleteThat is brilliant, that is exactly how it should be. I can count on one hand the number of grammar lessons I received from elementary - HS!!
ReplyDeleteSentence diagrams! Everyone should do at least one sentence diagram every day. Society would be better for it.
