I promise I have other things to say aside from these random pet peeves, I just don't have time to write it all out right now. These peeves, though, take less than a minute to type out and they are usually at least somewhat entertaining. right?
Today's rar: when someone says "Now that's funny; I don't care who you are."
First of all, it's probably not funny. I say this because people who actually use that line tend to just not be funny.
Second of all, what does it matter if you do or don't care who anyone is? Why should that at all be reason to state that something is funny?
Bottom line: just say "now that's funny" and leave it at that.
Courtney absolutely hates Larry the Cable Guy, who I believe originated this phrase.

ReplyDeleteI was under the same impression that Larry the Cable Guy popularized that phrase. It's just annoying; I don't care who you are.
